August 07 – January 08

Things certainly didn’t slow down for After Hours as following our return from Denver, we were hot footing it to deepest Wales to USK, where we performed on a show with the chorus Synergy and also the BABS Champion Quartet as part of the USK Fringe Festival.  A great night was had by all, followed by a lovely supper, a few pints and a sing in the local!  That’s how all events should end!

September saw us packing our bags and heading off for an adventurous weekend in Spain.  Our plane was diverted about 4 hours North of where we needed to be, but hey ho, we didn’t let it phase us!  We facilitated a coaching session for ex-pat barbershoppers from many of the local choruses including the Spangles & the Velvetones.  The day was a huge success, and the evening afterglow raised a huge amount of money for a local charity.  Our antics in the limo were great fun (what a cute driver – see the pics on our photos page!!).  Another show followed in the Benidorm area where we twinkled our toes in the finale when we samba’d to Copa Cabana (Alison will never be the same again….strictly come dancing here WE come!).  Thanks to Cath Hunter and Gail Grainger for another fabulous weekend to add to the highlights for After Hours.

LABBS Convention followed in October where with mixed emotions we officially ended our championship year and handed the mantle over to Havoc.  What a great competition we witnessed.  We performed three times on the Friday, mic warming, show spot & mic cooling, see the pictures in the Convention 2007 section of photos.

We hosted the first QC’s reception to welcome our new champions into the fold which was a huge success, long may it continue.  We premiere’d some new songs including ‘Patricia The Stripper’ arranged by the UK’s own Tony Patman.  What an ace song, we love it Tony thank you!  Oh, and we must mention of course that our chorus The White Rosettes won their eleventh gold! YEY!

We managed to get an evening together at Christmas when we made a surprise appearance at the Calder Valley Christmas Party to sing a couple of songs and get into the Christmas Spirit.

All too soon, we were waving goodbye to Alison as she flew back to France (now her home) along with teach tracks & strict instructions for her next visit in February 08 – can’t wait !
